Japanese alphabet question?
I can do this at school and need to know how many letters or symbols in the alphabet makes Japanese and what they are. A link would be very useful! Also, I heard that there is more of a Japanese alphabet – is this true? Another time, a link to all the alphabets would useful (if more than one). And can someone please give me a site that is translated into Japanese and free online no obligation to join? Thank you. Japan does not use an alphabet, instead uses a syllabary. Three writing systems use different: hiragana, katakana and kanji. The first two are usually grouped into a category called "Kana" you can read more here: The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kana it (kanji) are the Chinese characters introduced in Japan by the early missionaries in Korea. In Japanese writing practice are usually a mixture of all three, but Katakana is perhaps less, since they are generally not used to write the words "borrowed" other languages, or family names. Hiragana and katakana both have 46 symbols, while there are thousands of different kanji.
